Help a local mission to Haiti
Posted January 27th, 2010 by Gabe
Recently you may have noticed at check out, we at the market have encouraged customers to round up to the next dollar and donate the difference to the disaster in Haiti. This has had a positive response with some customers rounding to the next ten, twenty and hundred dollar mark. In the week of fund raising our customers have donated $850. All proceeds of this week will go to Convey of Hope, Doctors without Boarders and Americares.
Starting today proceeds will be donated to a more local effort.
Since 2003 Glen Echo Presbyterian Church has coordinated a medical mission trip to Fort Liberte, Haiti. Last year they attended to over 800 patients in five days of clinic. Considering the disaster, they expect to treat double or even triple this year. As a small group of 31 primary practitioners, nurse practitioners and physicians, resources are limited. The Clintonville Community Market has teamed up with the Glen Echo church to assist in their mission any way we can.
All proceeds from our check out rounding program will go directly to the churches mission.
If you would like to mail a check, please send your donation to:

Number three is in! We have a couple more days of data entry, a few more cables to install and registers number one and two to rehab, then our new point of sale system will be ready to go.
We would like to thank all who donated to the POS fund!

Co-op updates
Posted December 17th, 2009 by GabeThe trees went fast this year ! With four trees remaining it looks like we sold 130 Raven Rocks Christmas trees this year so far. Thank you for buying from us!
Register number three is on it's way ! We have been diligently working on plans to make your shopping experience better. A shorter, more efficient and more accurate checkout is top priority.
By the end of December a third register station will be completed directly across from the current station. We will also be updating existing registers number one and two with a new counter top and a more streamline design. We greatly appreciate Michael O'Connell for his hard work on this project.
The point of sale system is almost ready. Staff, volunteers and our tech Robb Ebright have been pounding away daily, programming equipment, entering data and setting up a system for faster check out and inventory management.
Bulk drinking water is coming soon ! CCM has teamed up with Mountain Fresh Water out of Kentucky to build a custom water dispenser for the store. This isn't just any water dispenser; this is a reverse osmosis super oxygenated water dispenser ! We look forward to this installation late January.
See you at the co-op!
